Emrist is a dedicated and compassionate therapist with experience supporting children, teens, and adults through life’s challenges. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Family Studies from the University of Alabama and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Oklahoma State University. Emrist began her career in an agency setting, working with children and families affected by trauma. Since returning to the Wiregrass area in 2017, she has provided therapy in a private practice setting, helping a diverse range of clients navigate their personal journeys. With certifications in Perinatal Mental Health and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Emrist is well-equipped to guide individuals through life transitions, past experiences, and emotional struggles. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but she thoughtfully integrates techniques from other modalities to ensure a personalized and effective treatment plan for each client. Emrist is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering space where clients can gain insight, build coping skills, and create meaningful change in their lives.
